First meet TONIGHT!!!
Hey Sharks,
We are SUPER excited to have all of our sharks suited up and ready to compete tonight at home vs. Calhoun! Backstroke flags went up this morning, and meet entries are up on the website now! We are ready for a shark attack!
Just a couple of reminders:
Warmups for ALL ages is at 4:30 p.m with a meet start time of 5:30 p.m.
Volunteers need to check in at the volunteer table in front of the restrooms.
We have designated tents for 6&U, 7-8 and 9-10. Please make sure that your swimmer is under their designated tent. This makes it very easy for our deck parents to make sure your child is at the right lane at the right time. If they are scattered all over the pool deck, there is no way to find them all.
You can find your swimmer's events by going to the website (www.stuartheights.swimtopia.com) > swim meets > today's date > click the grey Meet Entry button and your swimmer's events will appear. There will also be a copy hanging on the fence behind the diving boards and near the tents. Alternates are listed on the heat sheet. All alternates for free and back should stay in their exhibition heats and lanes, while the alternates for Breast, Fly and IM will need to swim in the far outside lane.
Also, make sure to "mark" your swimmer. Using a sharpie, all 10 and under swimmers need to have their name on their upper right shoulder blade along with their age. All swimmers will need to have their events marked on their arm. The best way to do this is to write it out like so (according to the heat sheet):
E H L
1 1 3 50 FR
I will post an example photo on the facebook page soon. Stay on the lookout. And of course, grab an experienced swim parent or older swimmer to help.
Here are few reminders on what you might need tonight:
SWIMMERS:
1. Team suit, team cap (MUST wear a STH cap) and a pair of goggles (We suggest always having a backup pair of goggles.)
2. Warm clothes (it can get cool as the sun sets), a change of clothes, a hat
3. Cards, games, etc. to pass the time
4. Sunblock, eardrops, bug spray, etc.
5. A small cooler with healthy snacks and plenty of drinking water
Spectators:
1. Chairs or blankets to sit on
2. Golf umbrella for shade
3. Sunscreen and bug spray
4. Keep in mind that you will there several hours. Concession stands (of varying quality) are typically available, but you, too, may prefer to bring your own cooler of snacks or picnic dinner.
5. Lots of water to stay hydrated
I know all of this is a tad overwhelming and sometimes clear as mud, but I promise, in a few weeks, you too will feel like a pro.
Let's do this sharks...ATTACK!
