practices & sponsorship
Greetings Sharks! The Board is super excited about this season and are so ready to dive into summer swim.
Practices begin May 31. As in the past, the big Sharks will swim 8:00-9:30a and 8&unders from 8:30-9:30a. Head Coach Katie Sallee and Assistant Josie White will work with the big Sharks. Avery Wilson and Trey Lydon will lead the 8 & unders in practice. All of our coaches are StH Shark alumni and look forward to leading our 2022 team to #1!
New swimmer evaluation will be the evening of Tuesday, May 31. Eight and under swimmers should be in the pool at 6:00p and bigs at 6:30p. This event will help Coach Katie ensure that your swimmer is placed in the correct practice team. If your swimmer cannot swim the length of the pool, they should enroll in swim lessons before practicing with the Sharks.
Parents are a huge part of summer swim! We are so appreciative of all of your encouragement and support of this sport. During practices, it is important that swimmers be able to focus on the coach and training so we request that parents not be on deck. Also, a reminder that only Stuart Heights Pool members are allowed to swim during evening practices.
Did you know that swim team members who join the pool will have their initiation fee waived? Contact the Pool for more information.
Do you own or work for a local business? Do you come from a long line of Sharks? We strive to keep the team fees at a minimum and seek sponsorship to help us meet our goals. We would like to purchase a banner to celebrate our 2021 team who swam for silver at City Meet, as well as a “feather flag” for meets. We want to rent a huge team tent for City Meet at Fort O (returning Sharks, you know how awesome this would be!). Sponsor levels are just $500, $250 and $100. Please check our Sponsorship page on the website or https://forms.gle/bmgqYwyyar2rChKg6 for more information.
Finally, if you made it to the end of this message, THANK YOU! We will be in touch again before practices start and look forward to seeing you at the pool.
