    Here we go! Lots of  info here so please take your time to read through this email. As always, feel free to ask questions!

    🦈We are 93 swimmers strong this season. If you know of someone who may be interested, please share our information. YOU are our biggest advocate and cheerleader and there is always room for more Sharks in our shiver.

    Coaching Staff:

    We are thrilled to have the return of head coach Katie Sallee who has been with the Sharks for many years. Also on deck will be Assistant Coach Josie White and Jr. Coaches Reese Skiles, Avery Wilson and Bella Lehman. All of whom have been StH Shark Swimmers and know and love our program.

    Practice:

    • Send swimmers to practice in their suits, ready to go (the restrooms are not always open).
    • It is best to park in the lower parking lot since the upper gate will always be locked.
    • Beginning Tuesday, May 30, Big Sharks start at 8am, and swimmers 8 and under start at 8:30am. Everyone will finish by 9:30, but sometimes the little Sharks finish early as they slowly build up the stamina to remain in the pool for the whole hour.
    • Swimmers may wear any one piece swim suit (it does not have to be the team suit at practice). Remember to bring goggles and a towel.
    • It is often chilly getting out of the pool in early summer so be prepared with warm clothes.
    • We will not offer evening practices this year.
    • During practices, parents are welcomed to watch from outside the pool area. It may be difficult for you to leave your little swimmer on deck but please consider taking a walk in the neighborhood, take the time to do the grocery shopping, or sit in the shady spot on the hill to read a good book. We ask this so the coaches and swimmers can focus on practice without interruptions. If you are on deck, someone will ask you to leave, so please save us all the bother and stay off deck. Thank you!
    • Upon the end of practice, it is very important that we clear the pool deck and bathrooms by 9:30 so the pool staff can prep for the day. In other words, please do not plan on changing at the pool.
    • If you are a pool member and plan on staying to play, please leave the area until the pool opens at 10:00. We are so appreciative of our StH home pool and want to continue to keep our positive, symbiotic relationship. https://stuartheightspool.com/
    • We hold practice rain or shine but will delay/cancel if there is thunder.  Please, please download the Remind app and join group @e7eh68.  It is the fastest way for us to get information to everyone quickly.

    RSVP Swimmers & Volunteers:

    It is never too early to RSVP for your swimmer and yourself. We literally cannot have summer swimming without our volunteers.  While the non-volunteer fee boosts our coffers, we'd prefer to have your help.😎

    • Log into the website
    • Click on EVENT/MEETS CALENDAR tab
    • Scroll down to each meet (yes, it will take a little time)
    • Click the green MEET ENTRY button and EDIT your swimmer(s) 
    • Pick a volunteer job shift (We will have training before the first meet!)
    • Remember to SAVE before leaving the page
    • Repeat for each event & meet.

    It is important to do this for meets you are attending as well as those that you are not able to attend. It really helps the coaches set up our relays and events with ease if we know who is and is not attending.

    If you ordered from our swag sale, your gear will be ready for pick up at the first meet.

    Calendar:

    • May 30 - practice starts
    • May 30, 4:35pm (NOTE TIME CHANGE) - Join us at the AMC Northgate Theater in Hixson to see The Little Mermaid. Wear your Shark (or mermaid) gear. We will try to gather in the lobby for a quick photo before going into the theater.
    • June 2, 8:30ish am - New parent meeting - in the shady spot behind the baby pool side of the property. Please bring a chair and your questions.
