City Meet & end of season

    July 05, 2026

    Action Items:

    Schedule for the week ahead:

Tuesday, July 7 Meet Mobile will be updated and go live on Tuesday. Current Psych Sheet is here.

Thursday, July 9  We will have our City Meet prep tie dye party during (and after for the bigger kids) practice this Thursday. Bring plastic bags to take the shirt home.

Crash Area setup will open at 4:00 PM. We are in the big pavilion again - yay!  - so no need for personal shade tents. There are bathrooms close and electricity on site. Bring chairs, fans, food, games, etc to make the time fun. Best to drive into the area via Gilbert St. and follow the parking guides.

Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 - City Meet

Sunday, July 12 - Join us for our final get together at StH pool from 6-9pm. Armando's at Chester Frost is serving chicken fingers and mac; free for everyone, but tips for the chef are always welcome. Every family should sign up to bring a shareable item to round out the meal, their own beverages, chairs, and swim suits. Be ready for a belly flop contest, team "tank", coaches’ awards, and family fun.

More City Meet details - please read :

    1. We are asking every team to bring 24-packs of Crayola crayons to Ft O (only the Crayola 24-pack) for donations to the Nehemiah Project with an ice cream party to the winning team. Crayons ina  box of 24 are currently available at Walmart for $.50 each.
    2. The weather is always unpredictable in July so prepare for everything. The 30 minute thunder/lightning delay will be in place, as well as one for heat. If the heat index of 105 F is observed during the meet, swimmer warm-ups will be limited to 10 minutes and you will see a quicker rotation of officials on deck with potential for changes in the meet schedule (another reason to join Remind).
    3. It is incredibly important that everyone starts hydrating the day before and throughout the meet. Wet kids often don’t recognize that they are thirsty so hydration is a key: electrolytes, watermelon, cold grapes, pickle juice, etc.
    4. Concessions are available and several restaurants are in the area.
    5. Warm-up schedule is here. Swimmers should be on deck five minutes before our time to get into the water. Parents, please help make this happen! There is a walk distance to the pool so give extra time to arrive.
    6. Little sharks will check in with the Clerk of Course before their event.
    7. There are a lot of people at CM.  Please be patient and kind to the other spectators as we are all there for the same goal - to cheer on the team!
    8. Do not let your kids walk or play in the dry creek bed that runs through the park as it is snake territory.
    9. Swimmers should check in with their coaches after every event.
    10. When kiddos make finals, it is essential that they return! It helps us earn points but also avoid fines for “no shows”.

    11. Do not leave the meet until you/your swimmer is certain they are finished. Especially as some of our relays are decided the day of. We will send relay updates via Remind.
    12. Zero tolerance for wearing swag (caps or suits) from any other swim team. We can receive a DQ penalty for this. Swimmers must wear team caps to City Meet. The only other allowable cap is the Emily’s Power for a Cure cap (available to purchase from the Ransom family).
    13. Friday and Saturday are long, hot, and fun days. Please do all you can to celebrate every Shark swimmer.
    14. This has been an amazing summer. We are so thankful for our coaches, sponsors, volunteers, and swimmers! Let’s finish it with a win!
