The CASL league received advance notice this past Thursday of major swim industry news expected to be announced on Monday 7/31: SwimTopia has acquired key assets of Swim-Team.US, and Rich Waldis, the owner of Swim-Team.US will be joining the SwimTopia team.

This news will obviously impact CASL, and we wanted to let you know that we are on top of the situation and working with Swim-Team.US and SwimTopia to ensure the needs of CASL are fully addressed and that they work with us to minimize any impact on our members.

SwimTopia has encouraged us to communicate with our member teams about this coming transition, but has asked that we keep this information confidential until after the public announcement.

Swim-Team.US and SwimTopia have stated their objective with this acquisition is to "join forces" to combine their expertise and resources to better serve swim teams and leagues, and to accelerate the pace of innovation for swim-related technologies.

SwimTopia has a reputation for being a very easy-to-use swim team management system. SwimTopia have some features that will likely be very welcome additions for our teams. But there will be some differences in the way things work, and there may be some Swim-Team.US features that today don't have a direct equivalent in SwimTopia. SwimTopia has committed to close any feature gaps so that we end up with a system that is the "best of both worlds."

The CASL board is still in the process of digesting this news and evaluating the proposed solutions.
We will be discussing our options and hope to reach a decision at our August meeting.
