Stuart Height Sharks Summer 2016 Registration
Sharks 4 Life!
Hey Sharks!
With summer just around the corner, it's time to get ready for our favorite summer pastime, SWIM! Building on our success and fun times from last season, we expect this season to be even better! We have all 4 of our amazing coaches returning - Head Head Coach: Katie Sallee, Assistant Coaches: Jess Klotz and Mikaya Reynolds, and Jr. Coach: Jon Pat Ransom. Our swim team board has been working hard during the off season to be sure that we are all ready for "game day". It really is going to be a great year that you do not want to miss! So...
Stuart Heights Swim Team Online Registration will open up Today, May 2. On this day, you can log on to the website at http://stuartheights.swim-team.us to sign up your child or children for the swim team. As you register, you will see that the site does require you to volunteer for 2 meets, if everyone volunteers, it makes the season more fun for everyone. However, you can opt out of volunteering by paying a $75.00 fee. New this year, our registration fees will be all inclusive. That means you only have to give us money ONE TIME! Isn't that great?!?! Your one time fee will include: CASL Fee, Silicone Swim Cap, 2 t-shirts, City Meet Fees, Banquet and Award fees and all of the administrative costs to run this awesome team! Also, new this year, you can pay this fee online via paypal and we encourage you to do this, it makes it easier on all of us. We encourage you to visit our website for a complete list of 2016 board members and the swim team budget.
We will have an onsite registration day on Monday, May 23 from 6:00-8:30. Feel free to come by on this day and get registered, but if you choose to pay at the pool there will be a $5 walk up fee.
This year, we will also be starting practice a week early, so Monday, May 23 will also be our first practice. We will only practice in the evening for the first week and morning practice will begin on Tuesday, May 31. We do have new morning practice times and they will be 10 and up 8:00-9:30 and 8 and under 8:30-9:30. You will also notice when you look at our calendar that our season is shorter this year. This is due to this being an Olympic year and championship long course meets are earlier in the season because of the addition of an Olympic trial meet. We will only have 6 dual meets plus City Meet. City Meet this year will on July 8 and July 9.
Our First Meet will be an intersquad "Red and Black" meet on May 25 at STH. This will be a great meet for all of our parents to come and learn about and how to do the different volunteer positions at each meet. This is also a great time for our coaches to see how much everyone has improved this year. All swimmers will be timed for freestyle, back, breast (7 and up only), and butterfly (7 and up only).
One more new event this year will be a Pink Meet Invitational on Saturday, June 11. This will replace our pink meet that we normally do on or around June 28 for Emily Ransom's birthday. We will be inviting all CASL swim teams to participate in this meet and we look forward to STH hosting an invitational type meet. We will be looking for volunteers for this meet as well.
I am attaching our sponsorship solicitation letter to this email. If you or someone you know is interested in sponsoring our team, please fill out this form and get it back to us as soon as possible. Our swim team has additional expenses that are not met by our registration fees each year. For example, this year, we need to buy a new wheel for the lane rope, etc. Our goal for sponsorship is $5000 and as of the sending of this email, the board members have donated/raised $1000. So, if you can help us out, Thank you!
It's going to be a great summer! GO SHARKS!
